The bin for the digital caliper also has a little slot for another tool or accessories, I made it to fit a collapsed Gerber mutlitool, since that's what I needed, but you can store batteries or whatever you want there. The bins are designed to take into account the side angles of the Maximera drawer, so it won't really work with ikea drawers that aren't angled on the sides. Supports are required on the caliper bin only. The bins are designed to be either 1/4 or 1/2 the width of the drawer, and 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 of the length of the drawer, so you can mix and match the sizes to get the layout you need. The Large and medium bins must go against the side of the drawer, since they have an angle to them. The 3/4 long box and small boxes have squared sides, and are meant to fill in the middle in various configurations.
