Organizer
thingiverse
This desk organizer is intended to help disorganized students by providing designated spots for important school essentials -- there are two slots for things such as folders, notebooks, or loose leaf paper, there spots for pens, pencils, or highlighters, a place for sticky notes, and there are some lovely drawers for extra things such as spare pencil leads or erasers. Having all these things in one place is definitely beneficial to even the most unorganized students as having an area for supplies often encourages them to put things there instead of just strewn across a desk, or worse, thrown loose into a backpack, destined to be lost for a near eternity. While designing this organizer, the size constraints of most 3D printers came to be a bit of an issue but by separating key components of the project into different pieces that could be fit together, this problem was easily resolved. Additional improvements from this design could include additional slots for folders, more spaces for pens or pencils, or maybe even a sticky note dispenser instead of just a convenient space for them. Similarly, 3D printing this design could help answer some questions like exactly how many pencils or pens that would fit in the organizer and it could help resolve any issues that may arise such as stability.
