My organically shaped bench prototype ready to print. This intervention is a small part of a bigger urban project in the city centre to help redesign the area of Maasmechelen and bring the car-dominated centre back to its pedestrians. This specific intervention is an organically shaped bench made to serve the people of Maasmechelen and create an interactive element in the public space. The bench aims to bring the citizens of Maasmechelen back to their beloved park Connectera. The fluid shape and features of the bench reflect the topography of the surrounding landscape of the Maasmechelen nature park. Apart from its organic form, the bench utilizes the heather plant that covers the dunes of the natural Connectera park.
