sketchfab
This unusual creature was unearthed in the ancient rocks of Niobrara County's White River badlands, Wyoming. Spanning parts of Wyoming, Colorado, South Dakota, and Nebraska, the White River badlands stretch across a vast territory with an age range of approximately 35 to 19 million years old. The skull on display belongs to Merydoidodon culbertsoni, an animal widely known as an oreodont. Oreodonts were small ungulates that bore some resemblance to pigs in their physical appearance. Fossilized remains of these creatures are found in abundance.
