Oreck XL motor mount
thingiverse
I designed and printed a replacement motor bearing for my mom's Oreck vacuum cleaner, which had suffered a catastrophic failure due to overheating. The plastic surrounding the screw holes had melted completely. The new bearing was printed using 100% ABS infill with extensive support structures throughout, as well as a brim generated by Cura. This ensured a strong and stable print. To improve bed adhesion, I added standoff supports with wide bases underneath, which could be easily removed after printing. An alternative design without standoffs is also included for those who prefer it. It's worth noting that the nut holding the fan requires a clockwise motion to unscrew, contrary to the standard anticlockwise rotation.
