The insignia of the order boasts a seven-pointed star in deep green enamel, surrounded by three short silver rays that bridge each point of the star. At its center is a gold medallion, featuring a red enameled field encircled by a green enameled band. Within the crimson core of the medallion rises a raised gold crescent, while an elegant inscription declares: "Relying on the Assistance of Almighty God, Abdulaziz Khan, Sovereign of the Ottoman Empire". The reverse center is dominated by a silver medallion, adorned with a trophy of arms and the year AH. 699, marking the founding of the Ottoman Empire. A gold crescent and star suspension mechanism holds the badge in place, pointing upwards. The star itself displays the same obverse center medallion superimposed on a silver seven-pointed star with faceted rays. Typically, a first-class star measures about 100 mm across, while its second-class counterpart measures approximately 90 mm, boasting the Ottoman mint mark on its reverse side.
