Ord Bot Z screw Isolator (Wobble Suppressor)
thingiverse
To combat z wobble, I designed a suppressor inspired by DaleDunn's solution for the Prusa (Thing 20147). This version is tailored for the Ord Bot Hadron and should also work on the Quantum if there's enough clearance. There are two options: one uses z nuts from the Ord Bot Kit, while the other employs M8 nuts, with a plastic washer potentially needed to minimize height changes due to bent threaded rods. However, an issue arose where the upper piece hit the z endstop switch on the gantry, so I corrected this by deleting bad files and uploading modified ones. A photo comparison showcased a 20mm square print with and without the wobble suppressor, highlighting significant z screw wobble with a metal Ord Bot z coupler. Post-sanding to reduce friction between z nut holders and posts eliminated the remaining wobble. Print the test STL first for proper slot fitting on the z nut holder, and adjust extrusion multiplier in Slic3r if necessary. The z nut holder's mounting holes require M5 thread tapping.
