Taking Printing to the Next Level: Designing a Custom Cooling System Seeking an Efficient Way to Reduce Sagging on Extreme Overhangs In pursuit of the ultimate printing experience, I've developed a cooling system that showcases innovative problem-solving. Though it didn't outperform my previous setup, it still boasts significant improvements over relying solely on standard fans. A Continuous Pursuit: This Isn't My Last Attempt After analyzing results and assessing areas for improvement, I placed an order for high-performance centrifugal fans. A new design is already underway, promising enhanced capabilities that will take cooling to unprecedented levels. **Getting Started** All components were meticulously designed using Blender. The downloadable files enable users to effortlessly modify the setup according to their specific needs. Technical Details: - The front features a 40mm fan, while both sides boast 50mm fans, carefully prepared by cutting off their bottom portions and rounding the 40mm unit via Dremel. - Underneath the system lies a layer of heat-resistant tape, deliberately chosen due to the project's use of PLA, which wouldn't otherwise tolerate close proximity to hotend temperatures. Optimized Printer Settings Printing conditions involved an infill density of about 40% for concentric prints with every twentieth layer solidified using standard infill techniques.
