Orchid basket - very little support material needed

Orchid basket - very little support material needed

For orchids that thrive in airy environments after watering, I opt for a design that showcases their beauty. Wood baskets with an abundance of exposed surface area are common, but I wanted a vase or pot shape that complements my existing orchid pots. Moreover, the wood baskets eventually deteriorate from repeated soakings, and I'm fed up with soaking an older basket only to have it disintegrate in my hands. To minimize support material during printing, refer to the settings in the accompanying photos, which utilize Simplify3D as a reference. The diamond pattern of the basket is angled at 45 degrees, making support unnecessary for all areas except the rim. If you're skilled at stringing, you can attempt to print the rim without support, but I find this approach cleaner. I utilized TTYT3D's rainbow metallic silk filament for this project.
