Orca Y belt tensioning upgrade
thingiverse
This design replaces original Orca v0.20 Y belt end pulleys with adjustable ones, using a pivoting mechanism and an M4 threaded rod under ZY structure for tension control. This innovation brings two benefits - easy belt tension adjustment via nuts on the M4 rod and elimination of left M8 threaded rod bending due to belt tension. However, it reduces Z print area slightly, about 2mm in some machines. For installation, first print both front and back pieces. Attach the back piece to the aluminum plate using screws, then fit the front piece loosely. Next, tighten the Y belt a little less than desired final tension. Insert an M4 rod (350mm length) between the pieces, ensuring it sits under ZY structure. Finally, adjust the tension by pivoting the front piece until the belt is at the preferred tightness, then securely tighten the rod.
