Orca Whale Thumb Ring

Orca Whale Thumb Ring

cults3d

Orca Whale thumb ring designed specifically for metal casting and metal 3D printing. Most rings are modeled with a US size = 8 (Diameter = 18.14mm approx.), ensuring that when scaled up, there will be no issue with wall thickness, especially suitable for most metal 3D printing applications. To scale up a ring to fit your finger size, it is recommended to use Meshmixer, a free software from Autodesk. Import the ring and choose Analysis/Measure from the left menu. Measure the inner diameter of the ring by selecting Type: edge to edge, Direction: outward (n), Snapping mode: Snap to Vertices from the sub-menu. Click on the inner diameter of the ring and you will get a red line with a reading on the right side. To scale up, go to Edit menu/Transform, increase any size value while checking Uniform Scaling. Repeat the measuring process until you achieve your correct finger size. Once done, export the model as STL Binary Format, which is highly recommended. All published models are sold for personal use only. Please contact me if you would like to purchase a model for commercial use. If you require a custom ring, jewelry item or any other model, please feel free to reach out to me. To achieve a similar polish/finish as in the rendered ring image (with dark cavity), print the ring with vintage/antique silver from i.materialise, which is currently the only available option. Alternatively, you can try oxidizing silver at home by searching YouTube for "how to oxidize silver at home."
