V3/4 streamlines the design by removing unnecessary elements, reducing weight and print time. It includes an option for printing a pair of holders compatible with various extruders such as Greg's Wade. Note that this will only work with groove-mount or other hot ends not requiring the 30mm retaining strap. V2 introduces chamfers and a retained nut for the belt clamp to prevent interference with Z lead screws. This X carriage (V0.3) features an agnostic design, accommodating any timing belt of suitable size. The belt clamp is simple, and the belt attaches to the double-bearing side. Placing the extruder motor at the back conserves Z height. Adjusting the car_thickness parameter in the SCAD file can increase Z height further. To print, download individual files or a zip containing DXFs and a timing belt library. You'll also need MCAD and OpenSCAD libraries to render the sketch as shown. Required prints are the X carriage, three LM8UU bearing holders, and two belt straps. Assemble with 12 M4 Nylock nuts, six M4 x 30 (or preferably 32) cap screws, 16 M4 washers, and extruder-base-suitable M4 cap or countersink screws.
