To enhance the Orca V0.3 printer, I upgraded its Gen 6 electronics to Ramps, which offers better control and monitoring features like shutting off the heated bed after printing. The ramps board was mounted on a 1/4-inch plywood base with drilled holes for easy installation. Surprisingly, the Orca V0.3's motor connectors were compatible with Ramps, requiring only minor adjustments. To power everything, I used a 12V 30A supply. The reprap heated bed reduced printing height by 6mm but was manageable. A zip file with adjusted Sprinter settings for the Ramps board is provided to assist others in making the upgrade. However, the end stops from Orca V0.3 were not compatible with Ramps, so micro switches or optos are needed. Overall, I found the upgrade greatly improved an already solid base, and it would be nice if Orca V0.3 shipped with better electronics initially. If anyone is interested in purchasing the Gen 6 board and power supply, please let me know.
