Orca Assault Craft
thingiverse
This is a highly detailed, 1:32 scale model kit of the GDI Orca from the original Command & Conquer Game released in 1995. The kit breaks down into simple components, making it easy to eliminate layer lines by applying spraycan filler and sanding each part until all visible marks are gone. To achieve a high-quality finish, I recommend using a small layer height of either 0.08mm or 0.12mm when printing the model. Specifically, the canopy should be printed in Vase-Mode to ensure a smooth surface. The gun barrels can be replaced with Gr.1 / 20G hypodermic needles, which require heat to remove the plastic shroud. Be cautious not to stab yourself, even with the blunt end of the needle. To add an extra level of realism, you can drill a 6mm hole at the center of mass for a magnet if you plan to use the magnetic display stand available on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2830414. As this is my first and likely last Blender project, I had initially planned to include a fully modeled interior with a pilot and vacuumformed canopy attached to a 3D printed frame. Unfortunately, I never found the time or motivation to add these extra details. The Blender and Fusion360 files for the model's weapons are included for your use.
