New improvements are underway for a revised version of this object, including refinements in fit and incorporating all thoughts from the original design. For those who cannot wait, use Aggressive's parts as a temporary solution (print files available). The new version will be posted soon, so check back within one or two days. This is a replacement holder for the X and Y (and Z, although not necessary) axis of Orca 0.40 and 0.42 Linear Bearings. After using LM8UU linear bearings, the rattling noise became unbearable despite several lubrication attempts with grease and oil. A helpful tip was to mount the bearings at a 45-degree X alignment, but the issue persisted. The printed LM8UU bearings provided some relief (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16813). In pursuit of quieter printing, IGUS slide bearings were considered next as they have a different outer diameter and length than LM8UU bearings. These replacement holders are designed to tightly snap onto RJMP 01-08 bearings without falling off during installation. The creator has been using them for a week and loves the improved silence during printing. A video demonstrating their functionality is available at http://youtu.be/on6PA-QSfIc. Printing instructions include .2mm layer height, .35mm nozzle, 35% infill, and no raft needed. Note that the X and Y holders are scaled to 1.01. If printing with ABS, ensure these parts are made from ABS as they will be exposed to higher temperatures during use.
