Orca 0.3 Y axis belt tensioner
thingiverse
An alternative to the stock belt clamp is available, featuring a tensioning screw. It operates similarly to http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:10274; however, the belt remains straight by being clamped at the bottom and free at the top. The SCAD file can be adjusted for various machines and belt sizes due to its parametric nature. Version 2 incorporates rounded corners, a slimmer clamping strap, and adopts Aggressive's improvement in nipple form. Assemble by: 1) Printing and cleaning up the parts 2) Insert an M4 nut into the slot down the part's middle 3) Add an M4 tensioning screw (minimum 30mm length for effective tensioning) 4) Attach the nipple to the end of the tensioning screw 5) Mount on the Y frog, looping the belt over the tension screw and under the clamp's bottom 6) Keep clamp loose until ready to tension; adjust mid-travel tension and tighten fixing screws 7) Further tension or release via clockwise turns of the tensioning screw This is marked as a work in progress until the machine functions properly.
