Orbiter Bear Mount

Orbiter Bear Mount

I've updated the mount so you could use a BLTouch as well for a Volcano HE or a V6 HE.

UPDATE 8/18/2021: I purchased a Orbiter V1.5 and adjusted the mount to fit (mounting holes were slightly different). Also you will have to cut a new length of PTFE tubing to 54.50mm to work with this version. I've now included a tool for cutting the PTFE tube to the correct lengths for each version.

I recently purchased an Orbiter Extruder kit and needed a mount for it. I currently use the BearExxa on my Bear Clone and I didn't want to really change too much from that design as it make things easy to disassemble when needing to change parts.

So I came up with this simple mount for the Orbiter. The mount is a remix of the BearExxa Body and mounts to the original Bear x-carriage. Unfortunately you will lose the Filament sensor (I'd really like to redesign the body to where I could include this).

For the PTFE tube you will have to cut it down to 40mm for it to work with this mount.

Print Settings

Printer:

Prusa Bear Clone

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.28mm

Infill:

20%

Filament: Priline Carbon Fiber PC Black

Notes:

I used Greg's print parameters (4 perimeters, 5 top and bottom, 20% infill), I only changed the layer height as I'm using a 0.6mm Volcano Nozzle

Category: 3D Printer Extruders
