Orange Pi Plus 2E case
thingiverse
The first case designed for Thingiverse on the Orange Pi Plus 2E. I successfully printed it and confirmed that the Orange Pi fits snugly inside. To accommodate the IR sensor, I had to elevate the height of its mounting hole. In addition, I added vent slots and made some minor adjustments. The top surface is basic, plain, and sturdy. However, you'll likely need to modify it to incorporate features like cooling fans and expansion boards. The Plus 2E's quad-core H3 CPU generates significant heat, necessitating a heat sink for optimal performance. To provide adequate blocking to keep the PCB secure, I suggest adding pegs to the underside of the lid or using plastic sleeves over the bolts. To prevent damage from full 3D printed tubes around the bolts, there's not enough clearance on the top side of the board. I designed the SD card opening large enough to accommodate the camera connector, but keep in mind that installing a camera will complicate card insertion and removal. Furthermore, connecting the camera cable is necessary before placing the board inside. The buttons component fits seamlessly through the power end holes. To facilitate its installation, I created a recess and added a bump-out to fit the button piece perfectly. The AV jack hole is spacious enough for easy installation, but I also designed a tapered recess around it to ensure secure fitting. Designing This Case I own an Orange Pi Plus 2E and took meticulous measurements. The mounting holes are correctly positioned, as confirmed by printing a test slab with 3mm holes to compare with the actual computer board.
