Orange Pi (OPi) Zero Minimalized Case - Updated
thingiverse
## UPDATED VERSION – V2: * Moved the 25mm fan to the opposite side to effectively cool all levels. * Added extra support to help seat the extension board without a hole. * Extended the 3mm attachment to the 45mm fan/bottom, applicable only for round versions. * Included the original Sketchup file for your customizing pleasure. * Reduced some of the holes in size so you can use smaller screws. If the holes are too large, I resolved this by adding a spare piece of filament in the hole then screwed it in. ## Notes: The original and V2 models come with optional 25mm and 45mm fan openings to cool the Opi – you can use any combination of fans – personally, I use the 45mm fan on the bottom, since the 25mm fan may obstruct the wiring (if you want it coming out that side. I added pictures of the build for clarity without the fans attached. I included the original Sketchup file I used to design this, so customize it to your heart's content ## ORIGINAL: Since Orange Pi Zeros have an overheating issue (mine does), I figured I'd create a minimalized 'open air' tall case with a 25mm 5v DC fan mount to blow directly at the core processor. Notes: * I included the original Sketchup file with an outline (on the top and bottom) showing where I think an alternate location for another fan mount may be. This file also includes the measurements I used (after making the top portion) to make the bottom, just in case anyone wants to redo the bottom. * The design uses 3mm screws/bolts. * The holes on the 'towers' are deliberately undersized (a bit) to help create a good thread when attached to the top. * It can be bolted from the top or bottom - change the hole sizes if needed. * The fan mount is for a generic 25mm fan, but I specifically use the 2510S 5V DC fan attached to pins 4 and 6 (on the OPi Zero pinout). * I added bottoms with a round and square vent/hole to further dissipate heat. Personally, I have mine bolted down by the top so the bottom rests up. Notice: I include the Sketchup files for my posts to allow customizing and any changes you want made. I generally do not take pictures of my creations and only show the isometric view from Sketchup, as each print will be different. Happy printing and customizing!
