Orange Juicer
thingiverse
The Inspiration upon crafting an orange juicer sparked from sipping a cup of orange juice one morning. After finishing my drink, I envisioned it would be awesome if I designed a simple handheld orange juicer. To create this work piece, I first drafted a base using straight lines and applied the revolution function with precision. Then added a subtle fillet at the bottom edge of the base for a smooth finish. In the second phase of my design process, I created a 2D sketch of a seven-pointed star and then extruded that 2D sketch out of the base of my work piece. Next, I selected the XZ plane of my piece and applied the work plane function in the work features tab to create a second XZ plane about 2.5 inches above the base of my work piece. On this new plane, I created a 0.5-inch circle and lofted that 0.5-inch circle to the seven-pointed star shaped extrusion with ease.
