Oral-B toothbrush sanding/polishing head
thingiverse
You can repurpose a standard Oral-B toothbrush as a makeshift orbital sander, ideal for removing surface imperfections left behind by supports or bad overhangs in model work. Drills can be noisy and cumbersome to use with small models, providing only rotational motion that can apply uneven force, causing objects to shift and potentially damage the surface. Start by cutting a circle of sandpaper roughly 1.5 times the diameter of the toothbrush head and make eight or more radial cuts almost all the way through to the center. Next, fold these cut edges inward around the head and secure them in place using the shaft. Mounting the screw thread is easier when already attached to the toothbrush. For polishing, you can also insert microfibre cloth into the sandpaper holder in a similar manner. This mod was inspired by Mightynozzle's sanding stick design, available on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2404850
