ORAC Lathe Tach Display Faceplate
thingiverse
While updating my Denford ORAC lathe, I aimed to position a spindle tachometer as close as possible to the workpiece so they could share the same field of vision frequently. Given the ample space behind the spindle access cover and an existing hole leading over to the main pulley access area, mounting the display from a cheap hall-sensor tach seemed like the best approach. To facilitate this setup, I removed the 80's ORAC logo and training g-code chart on the original cover and printed a new one that allowed for easier mounting of the display. I'm satisfied with how it turned out overall. Check my build page to see how it looks installed on the machine. This project utilizes my rounded cube library for its base shape.
