Optimized spool holder

Optimized spool holder

I utilized Toranado3D's innovative wall-mounted spool holder and combined it with Cort's customized spool hub. I created specialized blocks that would slot seamlessly into the spool holder, replacing traditional PVC pipe. The blocks feature a precise hole for 8mm rod insertion. I adjusted the ID of the spool hub to 16mm to accommodate an 8x16x5mm bearing. Next, I designed a sturdy back plate to provide additional support, which I mounted on the rear of my Da Vinci 2.0a using M4 screws that are 35mm long with nylock nuts and washers. The arms were secured with six M3 button head screws and washers. Although the back plate doesn't perfectly align, it's close enough to drill out holes for a better fit. I'm still undecided about the location of my setup and whether or not to route the filament. Depending on how this design performs, I may add internal support to prevent future issues. I'd like to extend my gratitude to Cort and Toranado3D for creating the foundations that allowed me to customize them to suit my needs.
