This is my initial submission to Autodesk's robot gripper arm design contest and GrabCAD, created in SolidWorks for CNC machining. PhotoView 360 provided the renderings. An update (Sept. 24, 2013) includes stress analysis performed with SolidWorks Simulation due to Sim 360's incompatibility with my laptop. Results show a material of ASTM A36 Steel, mass of 56.45 kg, maximum von Mises Stress at 62.2 MPa, minimum factor of safety at 4.02, and maximum displacement of 0.7907 mm. I plan to update with Sim 360 data and report once I access a compatible OS (estimated this week).
