Optimized Alcoa Bearing Bracket V1.3
grabcad
In my fourth submission, I've altered the design based on different constraints compared to my previous version. The model weighs 0.539 lb (244.4 grams) and can reduce weight/volume by up to 71.6%. Due to jury rules, this submission differs from the last - they didn't allow fixed constrains at the base. I've uploaded a *.STEP file and SolidWorks/*.SLDPRT for constraint verification (design-tree won't be available). Native SolidWorks files will be uploaded once the challenge nears its end. I've outlined new assumptions to closely simulate real-world testing: 1) Constrains on cylinder faces (bolt holes), 2) Constraints on flat faces (circular flat surface for bolt head), and 3) Contact Set as "Virtual Wall" (base/bottom face). With only one day left, I hope to optimize further based on these new constrain assumptions. Best regards, Ardhia
