2020-06-20: Added a version without curtains (see pdf drawings containing "no curtains" in the name). Instead curtains sleeve_frame.stl parts are inserted into the windows. On these frames disposable shoe covers may be put on for better aerosol protection and easier hand operations. * * * 2020-04-29: Updated drawings (rev01), added curtain patterns, added CNC 2mm routing version. * * * Aerosol box provides an additional protection form aerosol for doctors during intubation procedures. This design is made to drastically reduce the manufacturing cost and improve the doctor's experience. Most existing designs are really resemble boxes and usually are made with acrylic, which make then rather an expensive product. Moreover, the boxes edges may have negative influence on viewing. Proposed design is a single-piece-part made of inexpensive 1.5mm PET sheet. Once cut it can be easily assembled with available fasteners without special tools or clues. Provided files are for fasteners of 5 mm diameter. We use DIN967 5mm*10mm screws, DIN1587 5mm nuts, and 2mm-thick washers. 26 pcs of each is needed. You can modify the holes and use other fasteners. One Standard sheet (2050x1250mm) can hold two boxes, which makes it about 4x cheaper than standard acrylic aerosol boxes. Sample layouts are depicted in the layout pdf files (holes are 5mm in these layouts). Additionally this box has no edges in front of face and provides an excellent operational visibility and control (confirmed by the doctors). Approximate box dimensions are: Height ~ 50cm Depth ~50cm Width ~ 55cm, can be extended to 65cm from the patient side. This design is build by VRDiver Company (http://vrdiver.net)
