To accurately measure the position of a workpiece or tool in the Z-direction on milling machines and turning lathes, the zero setter must be carefully positioned on the workpiece itself. Next, the spindle needs to be moved deliberately towards the tracer. A built-in LED signal confirms when the reference dimension of 50 mm has been reached, allowing for precise measurements. In addition, a safety spring range of 2 mm is incorporated to ensure reliable results. For applications that require horizontal positioning, a magnetic version of the zero setter is available for use.
