Optical Z Endstop for Ender 5

Optical Z Endstop for Ender 5

I was frustrated with the standard deviation of the mechanical switch-based end-stop. Not sure if it was just my setup but the physical pressure moved the switch a bit which made calibrating my first layer difficult. So I designed this part which uses an optical sensor and has a whopping 0.000750 standard deviation over 1000 tries. Easy print, no supports or anything. You will need two small M3 (6-8mm) screws to secure the module and one M4 screw to replace the existing endstop trigger with the "stick". See video on how this is mounted on my Ender-5. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gca-JsbtghI) I used these sensors, they are fairly cheap on Aliexpress: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/32817734162.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dSIZMQH
