Optical Spinner v4
thingiverse
Human: Notes from my original tinker:\nThis is a fidget spinner, of course.\nThe center utilizes two standard 608z skateboard bearings or similar (22 mm x 7 mm), stacked back to back.\nInspiration came from an old pencil drawing that usually keeps me occupied when I sit and doodle;\nas has for many years.\nMost likely picked the shape up from an old math class eons ago.\nI hope you enjoy it; let me know if I messed it up anywhere, my eyes hurt after staring at it for a while!\nVersion 1 features more faces than version 2;\nalso in version one, the bearings sit outside the frame intentionally.\nThe center hole still requires two bearings stacked,\nand the exterior holes are designed for one bearing.\nUse cheap bearings on the outside just for weight and slow spinning.\nVersion 4 added some extra bearings for weight and longer spinning - same size as the others, 7mm x 22mm.\nIf you print it standing up, it yields good results with a raft and supports.\nMight have to clean inside the bearing housing a bit or scale it up to 101% depending on your printer.\nIt's a bit delicate when done, so use caution when installing bearings.\nPrint Settings:\nPrinter: QIDI X-ONE\nRafts: Yes\nSupports: Yes\nResolution: .15 to .20\nInfill: 30% to 90%\nNotes: Printed in PLA and PETG 50mm a sec with supports for the steps on the bed as it begins;\nprints best standing up but that will require a raft and supports in most cases.\nLaying flat, I have trouble getting good results on the bottom side.
