This is a custom-designed optical mounting system created specifically for compatibility with regular optical breadboards utilizing standard 1/4-20 mounting holes or their metric equivalents. It utilizes a unique mounting arm (identical in design to PM1, consult the separate file labeled as PM1) to secure square-shaped optical components firmly against the platform's lower section. The control mechanism involves six 32nd screws, coupled with ergonomic knobs, which allow users to manipulate the movement of the platform both left-right and up-down pivots. A single 6-32 mounting screw facilitates attachment of this system to a steel 1/2-inch post boasting a 6-32 threaded hole or an intricately crafted 3D-printed base, referenced in another file. Assembly requires various metal components as outlined below: Required Components: 2 - 6-32 x 3/8 inch internal threaded standoffs 4 - 6-32 nuts 1 - 6-32 x 1/4-inch screw 2 - 6-32 x 1/2-inch screws for mounting the platform 2 - 6-32 x 1.5-inch screws 1 - 6-32 x 3/4 inch screw serving as a ball mount 2 - 1/2-inch springs with hooked ends 4 - 7/16-inch by 1/16-inch aluminum pins Operating Instructions: The 6-32 x 1.5 inch screws are anchored to the knobs through a secure connection formed by a drawn-in 6-32 nut. Two of these standoffs snugly fit into hexagonal openings on the outer arm. Two 6-32 x 1/2 inch screws are utilized for securing the inner arm directly onto the platform. A single screw passes from corner to corner of the inner arm (the ball mount's thread size is specified at 6-32 by 3/4 inch), accompanied by a nut attached on either side. Upon installation, it secures itself within a ball joint housed within the outer arm due to the screw head threading engagement with the ball component of the mount. This setup works harmoniously in unison because there exists two end mechanisms working concurrently.
