Optical Extension Coupler
thingiverse
I decided on printing a coupler for some Toslink optical cables rather than waiting a day or two and paying $5. Doing a quick print made more sense. It turned out to be easier to print two pieces and glue them together. I also found that the alignment was lost when the cables moved, so I printed a simple tube that slides over the connection. I didn't worry about getting the exact geometry of the connector right. This works just fine for me, which is all I needed. Openscad files are included if you want to resize them, especially the surrounding tube since I expect the outside dimension of the connector varies widely.
