I don't like and trust the mechanical endstops on my printer, so I bought some optical endstops. I wanted to implement them with possibility to fine adjust the position of the optical endstop to get a well setup. So I created this mechanism to fine adjust the position. The whole part consists of flexible parts which are directly printed in one step. I think you will need an already well optimized setup to print the part in good quality. I have spent some time to optimize the settings for my Printer. I have printed with 0.1mm layer height and a 0.3 mm nozzle as an solid part without any support. After printing, you have to gently crack the connections to get a flexible part (hold with a fine tongue and do a gentle rotation). In addition, I have used some silicone spray to get less friction and better flexibility. You will need a M3 Thread die and prepare the holes for the sensor, the main screw for adjustment as well as the upper hole for fixing the holder by a screw. As a spring, I have used a standard ballpen spring. Size of the screws you will need: M3x16 (for fixing the holder to the frame profile, I have used M3x20 because no was M3x16 was available) M3x30 (main adjustment screw) M3x12 (fixation screws for the sensor and also for the opposite part) The small plastic washers which you see on the picture are not needed and I don't use them actually. Backside of the Endstop boards are not plane but it is okay to screw them directly to the holder, there is some bending on the board but I rate it uncritical. There is still some potential to optimize the design especially in aspect of tolerances, backlash etc. but for now my printer is working with it well. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Update* I have reworked the design and going to implement the new design to my printer. I have already implemented the old design to my printer and the manual leveling for setup worked very well, but I was concerned about tolerance of the position during normal usage when some mechanical stress occur like accidentally pushing/touching the endstops.
