Optical Auxiliary Comms. for Personal Mobility Vehicles
thingiverse
Electrical Assembly: This LED test assembly and the associated control code is running on a well-aged Arduino Duemilanove connected to 80 individually-addressable variable frequency photon source modules (WS2812) and 3 push buttons. Mechanical Assembly: Two pinhole projection matrix adapters (1st part) were 3D printed in black PETG and fitted precisely over the array of 80 RGB LEDs to allow light to fall onto the projection screen (2nd part) was 3D printed in white PETG to allow LED light diffusion and transmission of visual data to the user/observer. Purpose: Shown optical communications device will eventually join a larger robotics assembly for the purpose of systems status feedback and troubleshooting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAWowGvRVX0
