In the grim darkness of the future, it is a harsh and unforgiving world. Violence reigns supreme, unrelenting and constant. To keep track of events unfolding on tiny, makeshift tables, tokens are used by those with aged minds, whose memories have been scrambled by countless hyperspace jumps. These tokens serve as reminders of which units have engaged, suffered wounds, or faltered in their resolve. They also note when units are pinned down, scared, or wavering. The all-seeing eye of the Illuminati watches over magical effects, while gunfire has its own set of consequences. Characters who take damage may be stunned from their injuries, leaving them vulnerable to further harm. Exclamation marks can be used to denote critical hits, and the passage of time is also crucial in this grim future.
