This period (2017/2018_P2), Joop Coenen, Sari Leander, Jony Sun, and Stef VanderBroeck worked on solutions for a future problem caused by the closure of Welterlaan. Since Welterlaan will be completely closed, cars can no longer pass through it, which is a problem for the fire station located at Welterlaan, as they will have to detour with the result that firefighters cannot reach all areas in their coverage zone on time. Therefore, the fire department asked us to investigate what the bottlenecks are and come up with solutions so that no uncovered area is created during the road work on Welterlaan. This 3D model clearly shows which problems will arise when Welterlaan is closed. The fire department cannot reach the highway via Welterlaan, they have to detour.
