OpenZ v16 to Lamborghini Diablo kit
thingiverse
This kit will enable you to fit @Rockracer 's Lamborghini Diablo shell onto @guaro3d 's OpenZ v16 chassis, originally designed with a Honda Civic shell. I recommend printing the included cut-in-half shell with four walls and no infill to make working on it easier. After printing, you need to cut a slot on the front internal wall, mark where the front tip of the chassis touches the front of the shell, and cut a slot inside without removing the lower part (pic 5). Then, cut out the center rear end until the lower bumper portion, and remove the inside walls of the areas around it to allow more space for the motor (pic 6). Pic 7 is the body mount. You slide the tip of the chassis inside the slot you cut at the front, position the mount over the two chassis ears (where screws would be on the stock shell), and glue the mount, or mark the position of the middle hole, drill the body, and use an M3 screw with a nut. Pic 8 and 9 show how to mount or remove the chassis; use a fine tool to bend the mount and pass the ears under it. Make sure to position the mount exactly at the center and do not use spacers to correct a misalignment like you see on the pics, as it will bend your chassis. The rear pod pivot and either the spring or the spring eliminator provided by Jimmy Allen from the OpenZ FB group will stretch the wheelbase to the desired 11mm. A rear right wheel hub with an integrated spur is included along with a pinion, both remixes from @svenny 's set. Then you'll only need the new set of wheels, twice as wide as stock at the rear and 2.5mm+ wider on the front, to complete your build. Have fun! Note: This kit has no suspension travel, even with the spring, due to the body being so low that it is constantly touching the engine mount. EDIT: There's now a spur gear spacer available. Place it between the spur + hub piece and the rear pod bushing to correct the rear axle position. EDIT 2: Spur gear size has been corrected.
