We have designed a simple, robust ventilator using readily available components and manufacturing processes aimed at developing markets. Please see our website for more information https://openventbristol.co.uk/We are in need of more donations to continue. Please consider helping fund our design if you can: https://www.gofundme.com/f/openventbristol-covid19-bvm-ambubag-ventilatorOur device is based on an Ambubag/BVM (which is a hand-pump ventilation device). These are readily available in most countries health care systems at low cost and importantly they already have medical device approval for resuscitation. Our design effectively replaces the bag with a simple motor and compression arm.The custom made parts are made using the following materials and manufacturing processes:- 1.2mm stainless steel grade 316 laser cut- 2mm stainless steel grade 316 laser cut- 5mm aluminium laser cut- 10 mm aluminiumSoon I will upload engineering technical drawings for each part as well as production 3D files (DXFs STLs). Bill of Materials can be found on our website: openventbristol.co.ukDisclaimer:Note: although this project is open source this design is not permitted for anybody to make themselves as this will not provide sufficient quality control needed for medical product clearance, instead we will need to collaborate with manufacturers. All users of this design and device shall be deemed notified of the warnings stated herein. This device is a simply designed, fast produced ventilator. This device should not be used in place of an existing hospital ventilator. These should only be used as a last resort when a patient has no other alternative due to the lack of availability of existing ventilators. This is not a fully medically certified device and should not be relied upon as such. The device is designed for use by trained medical professionals and should only be used by trained medical profes...
