OpenVent - 3D printable pressure sensor for ventilators

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it became painfully clear that a shortage of medical equipment can have devastating consequences. Even simple devices and designs can make a significant difference when professional equipment is unavailable. This repository contains essential information about an open-source ventilator device. The main goal of this project is to build a ventilator in emergency situations where professional and medical equipment are scarce. Easy-to-assemble components with a clear focus on simplicity, availability, and scalability are used. This project began as part of the German government's #WirvsVirus Hackathon and has been intensively worked on since, including collaboration with medical experts. The work is also featured in the give-a-breath-challenge and The Global Hack. General concept: We share our 3D printed sensor housing to be used with our open source ventilator design. This design is currently undergoing endurance testing and is currently our top choice.
