This is a case where the TIAO OpenSprinkler Pi sprinkler controller truly shines. The weather-resistant sprinkler box, designed to withstand the elements, initially featured a spot for an O-ring seal. However, I opted to eliminate this step altogether by applying a generous amount of silicone sealant around the lid instead. A right-angle pipe provides easy access for running wires into the box, which is then securely fastened down with screws on top of the valve box cover - ensuring water stays out where it belongs.
