This is a more robust version of the brilliant OpenScan 3D Scanner designed to withstand a shared fabrication lab environment. It remains fully compatible with the original electronics and Arduino sketch. Changes include: * Replacing all press-fit parts with removable components * Upgrading to 608zz bearings at the axis of rotation for smoother movement * Securing axle with 8mm bolts and nylon locknuts for added stability * Using brass heat-set inserts for all threading to prevent damage * Reinforcing printed parts for increased durability In addition to the printed parts, you will need: * 6x M3 x 0.50 mm Brass Heat Set Inserts (available at McMaster-Carr) * 6x M3 x 0.5mm x 10mm Button Head Screws (available at McMaster-Carr) * 2x M8 x 1.25 mm x 65 mm Hex Head Bolts (available at McMaster-Carr) * 2x M8 x 1.25 mm Nylon Locknuts (available at McMaster-Carr) * 2x M8 Washers (available at McMaster-Carr) * 4x 608zz Ball Bearings (available at Folger Tech) You can replace the M8 bolts, locknuts and washers with 5/16" hardware.
