Version 1.0Intended Design/UseAn alternative Arducam IMX519 mounting system for the OpenScan Mini and a back cover that attaches to it.First, let me start by saying that there is nothing wrong with the original mounting system (a series of plastic screws, standoffs, and nuts). The instructions mentioned an alternative "slide-in mount" (unreleased) that inspired me to design a camera mount that self aligns the camera to the ringlight PCB, reduces the number of fasteners required, and integrates the same attachment method for a back cover as the rotor has for the translucent polarizer part. These pieces have some tight tolerances. In particular, the camera mount is designed such that the existing M3 x 8mm screws that mount the ringlight PCB to the rotor will center the Arducam lens with the ringlight PCB camera hole. Also, the Arducam has a square housing around the lens that should snuggly fit into the corresponding square hole in the printed camera mount. M2 screws (specifications given below) are used to secure the Arducam to the camera mount. The holes for the M2 screws are tapered but not threaded so use metal fasteners here. Double check that the Arducam lens is centered with the ringlight PCB camera hole with even clearance all around it before completing assembly. The lens needs to move when focusing and should not rub against the edge of the ringlight PCB.To attach the back cover to the camera mount, align the back cover such that the rectangular protrusions of the back cover line up with the corresponding rectangular indentations of the camera mount side rails. Light pressure should allow the features on either side to snap into place creating a strong lock. To remove the back cover, use the tabs that extend out to the sides of the back cover (like the original OpenScan Mini translucent polarizer part). Again, light pressure should do the trick.Printable Partsosm_camera_mount_v1.stlosm_back_cover_v1.stlPrint Settings0.2mm Layer Height3 Perimeters20% InfillNo supports requiredMounting Hardware(Qty 4) - M3 x 8mm Socket Head Cap Screws(Qty 4) - M2 x 4mm or M2 x 6mm Button Head ScrewsNotes* The ringlight LEDs can generate some heat during normal use. Using these parts may trap heat from the ringlight LEDs and further testing is required to know if that could cause any damage to parts of the scanner over time. In my limited testing, I have not observed any significant issue regarding heat. Regardless, use at your own risk.* For personal use only* Not for sale
