OpenSCAD Z-endstop fine tuner
thingiverse
Rewritten instructions from Thingiverse model 155175 using OpenSCAD for easy printing. Parameters are customizable to fit various printers. Refer to the scad file's comments for guidelines. The installation process and Bill of Materials (BOM) remain the same as the original model. These instructions were copied from the source at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:155175 and are specifically for Portabee installations. To install, gently loosen the back-bolts of the left x-rods clamp until the z-bearing holder can be removed while keeping the x-rods clamp and x-end motor in place. For this case, there's no need to reassemble the entire x-axis assembly. After installation, make sure there is a 5mm gap between the base clamp and z-endstop holder. Position the z-endstop holder as usual and tighten the 16mm M3 bolt. Fine-tune the position of the z-endstop using the adjustment wheel, then lock it in place with the switch to avoid the effect of vibrations. The following materials are required: 2x M3 10mm bolts, 1x M3 16mm bolt, 3x M3 nuts, 1x M3 washer, 2x M3 nylon washers, 1x (optional) M4 30mm screw (or 35mm), 3x M4 nuts, 3x M4 washers, and 1x M4 10mm spring (optional, to be inserted between holder and base clamp).
