OpenScad stamp maker (Adobe Illustrator script)
thingiverse
Adobe Illustrator script generates OpenScad source to create customizable stamps. I needed to label my son's kindergarten clothes, including socks, without using stick-on labels that could cause discomfort. Finding a better solution led me to create custom stamps inspired by an article on makezine.com about creating stamps with OpenScad. This script is a modified version of the original, adapted for use in Adobe Illustrator CS 2015. I used fabric paint, which sets with heat after drying, but other paints can be used for different materials. Simple lettering works best. Note: Tested under OSX and added to "/Applications/Adobe Illustrator CC 2015/Presets.localized/en_US/Scripts" - localization may vary. Update August 27, 2016: Removed Adobe options; now available only in OpenScad source. Default values used; user must manually adjust settings for more flexibility. Added configurable border and round base; set to zero or negative to remove the border, or false for a rectangular base. Round base works well for short words and Chinese characters. Added checkbox for automatic OpenScad file opening after generation.
