Although Thingiverse has numerous excellent gears, I couldn't resist creating my own designs too! Due to the vast array of gear parameters, I only uploaded a few STLs. I also designed a helical version (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1339). My openSCAD file allows customization with height, pitch diameter, shaft diameter, teeth count, addendum, dedendum, tooth width, shape, and extrusion settings. However, proper involute geometry based on pressure angle is pending the completion of openscad.org documentation.
