OpenSCAD Randomizer

thingiverse

This code generates a series of randomly sized "skyscrapers" based on a random seed and two style settings. One style setting affects how likely skyscrapers are to be tall, while the other affects how often they appear. The random seed produces sequences of numbers that control skyscraper height and existence, weighted by the chosen style settings. Check it out in action in this video (no audio): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hiJMWabMXI You can use this code as a starting point for any OpenSCAD project with a random element. Similar code was used as the base for our [Snowflake Machine](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1159436) and [Sunburst Clocks](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3198414). The code also includes built-in functionality for Thingiverse Customizer menus, allowing users to modify size, style, and random seed parameters. Click the "Open in Customizer" button to see how these menus work. To use this code in OpenSCAD, comment out the Customizer random seed line of code and uncomment the OpenSCAD random seed line. Download the .scad file and open it in OpenSCAD to get started.
