OpenSCAD Metric Nut, Bolt & Threads Library
youmagine
This is just a remix of Trevor Moseley's "OpenSCAD ISO metric thread library / functions (updated)", found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:311031. I made some tweaks to get it working on Ultimaker 2 and Cura, since Trevor's version seemed to create gaps between model parts and wouldn't print correctly. What's more, his original code didn't match actual steel nut and bolt specifications. I compared my testing against an M6 nut and several M6 bolts, as well as M6 threaded rod. I haven't tested other sizes yet. YMMV. All credit goes to Trevor for creating this excellent library. Although it may not be perfectly metric standard, it's now compatible with steel threading and is the only OpenSCAD metric library that works for me. I kept the same license since most of the code is his anyway. A Nuts and bolt ThreadTest example, along with an extra cylinder for a smooth shaft, was provided courtesy of DonMilne (http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/user/33340-donmilne/).
