Create standard nuts and bolts or add allow threads to projects with this OpenSCAD design. Uncomment lines for desired bolt/nut sizes and print in ABS. Photos show black steel and white ABS versions of M6, M8, and M10 sizes. Uses Reprap Metric Mendel Prusa with LM8UU bearings, fishbone wade extruder, own hot-end, and MKII hot bed. First design in OpenSCAD; calculations may not be perfect ISO metric. Printed at 0.2mm layers with 0.5mm nozzle hole at 5mm/s speed. Updated version (IsoThread_20120823.scad) reduces CGAL rendering times, moving positional calculations to variables and including quality tables for improved performance on Intel i5-2400@3.10 GHz with 16GB RAM; results show reduced render times across M10, M8, and M6 nuts and bolts.
