<p>Do you need a simple name tag but you want to create it using an OpenSCAD file with more controls than an Apollo Command Module? If so, do I have great news for you!</p><p>You've got controls for</p><ul><li>tag length, width, thickness, corner radius and chamfer size</li><li>clip/keyring attachment slot on/off, diameter, perimeter and length</li><li>text inset depth or raise height</li><li>greeting text</li><li>name text</li><li>text size (independent controls for greeting and name)</li><li>font</li><li>line spacing (independent for greeting and name)</li><li>text alignment (left or center)</li></ul><h3>Code Mods</h3><p>I included two Mac fonts in the dropdown. You can easily add your own font choices to the comment following the <i>font</i> variable declaration.</p><h3>Printing</h3><p>No need for supports or brims. Coded with 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height in mind. Examples were printed in Printed Solid PLA on a MK3S, sliced in PrusaSlicer 2.4.2 using the default “Generic PLA” profile. The raised text example had ironing for topmost surface only turned on.</p><h5><i>Update 2022-06-11</i></h5><p>OpenSCAD updated with a third, split raised and inset text option. The greeting area uses inset text while the name area uses raised.</p>
