Openscad Boat
thingiverse
My daughter asked if we could print a boat that floats right side up because Benchys aren't quite stable. So, after looking at several designs, I came up with this solution. To achieve stability, print the bottom with more infill than the top. I used 50% bottom (10mm) but it probably could be less, and 15% on the top. I printed this using the 0.2 fast settings to test its functionality. Additionally, for the first time, I used PrusaSlicer's color change function, which worked perfectly. However, the file still needs some tweaking as some details don't work out right in the slicer. Furthermore, it would be beneficial to make the parameters more forgiving to tweaks. Also, rendering this design in OpenSCAD takes a while due to the multiple hulls and I'm pretty sure that's not the most efficient way to do it. Nevertheless, it gets the job done. As I'm still learning, I'll continue to refine my skills and techniques to improve the process.
