OpenROV Payload Rail System
thingiverse
I designed a system that incorporates standard picatinny rails with holes specifically engineered for OpenROV payload bars. Accessories like Go-Pro mounts fit seamlessly onto these bars, making it easy to customize your setup. This modular design enables the user to adjust the position of their load, achieving optimal balance and stability. Multiple devices can be attached at once – I've personally tested up to three Go Pro cameras in conjunction with various sensors without compromising performance. It's recommended that users relocate the buckle securing the E-Capsule to the side of the ROV, as access becomes limited once the system is fully assembled. The rail holes are strategically sized to facilitate smooth threading action when attaching bars, ensuring precise positioning and adjustment. A model of an interface block is also provided, which can be easily integrated into 3D models to ensure seamless compatibility with this system.
